Utilizing tough polyurethane, these seals possess excellent wear and abrasion resistance. Symmetrical in design, they can be used in rod or piston applications. E= European Urethane.
Urethane Material | 40 MM Nominal Inner Diameter | U-Seal
Molded from 93 Shore A polyurethane with a 70 Shore A energizer, this seal utilizes the same groove dimensions as a standard o-ring or T-seal. One or two Style 575 back-up rings may be used for wider grooves. Extrusion resistant by design, this seal is also resistant to rolling and twisting. Installation is an easy two step snap-in procedure with no need to re-size before insertion into the bore. Piston diameter “I” dimensions are given for pistons without wear rings.
93A; 70A Durometer | Urethane Material | 2 1/8 in Nominal Inner Diameter | Piston Seal

Parback® backup ring with a curved cross-section.
Parbaks are contoured on one face to minimize distortion of the o-ring when under pressure. Parbaks should be installed with the contoured face against the o-ring, but reversal does no harm.
90A Durometer | Buna-N Rubber Material | 2 1/8 in Nominal Inner Diameter | 3/16 in Cross Section | Backup Ring
Features
- Excellent extrusion resistance
- Easily stretched for installation
- Lubrication is enhanced by rubber which absorbs system fluid and does not plate out on rubbing surfaces
ALUM-3500 has a 3.5 in diameter. The material is 6061 Aluminum T6
6061 Aluminum T6 is suitable for machining pistons and head glands.
The T6 refers to the temper or degree of hardness. T6 has been solution heat treated and artificially aged to provide the maximum yield strength for a 6061 aluminum alloy.
- Heat treated and aged for increased strength
- Easily formed
- Weldable
- Corrosion resistant

HC-4000-12 has a 4.5 in OD and is made to fit a 3.5 in bore cylinder.
Head cap size is determined based on the bending stress.
A static seal or o-ring is used in between the head cap and barrel (except welded construction).
The main function of the head cap is to enclose the pressure chamber at one end. The cap is connected to the cylinder body by means of welding, threading, bolts, or tie rod.
