PA-90URE-2x0.37 - PSC-326-WB | CRC Distribution Inc.

The Style PSC is a double acting piston seal designed to replace o-rings, quad-rings, and T-seals with the same groove dimensions (O-ring dash number). Style 575 urethane back-up rings may be added to either or both sides of the “PSC” to accommodate wider groove widths. The PSC is made of 95A Durometer polyurethane, giving it high extrusion and abrasion resistance. The crowned sealing surface produces a positive seal from vacuum to high pressure. Hercules® Sealing Products also offers a wide base (WB) Style PSC piston seal. These wide base seals have the same characteristics of the standard PSC seals but offer a wider base, eliminating the need to use back-up rings to accommodate wider grooves. Piston diameter “I” dimensions are given for piston without wear rings.

End clearance on piston rings depends on ring design, material andapplication. The following end clearances are provided as a standard for hydraulic cylinder applications. When using iron piston rings, it is crucial to use the correct groove design for proper performance of the cylinder. Please use the following guidelines when cutting an iron piston ring groove.

GROOVE WIDTH: To permit the ring to slide freely into the groove, the groove must be at least 0.001” wider than the maximum piston ring width with a tolerance of +0.003”/-0.000”.

GROOVE DEPTH: Grooves must be at least 0.015” deeper than the maximum radial wall thickness of the piston ring with a tolerance of +0.003”/-0.000”. This is to avoid any possibility of the ring bottoming in the groove when the ring is compressed to its working diameter.

RADIAL CLEARANCE: The radial clearance between the cylinder bore and piston should be less than 1/3 of the radial wall thickness of the piston ring to ensure sealing effectiveness.

Style ST-XL wipers are molded from premium urethane and are direct replacements for Style “ST” or “D” wipers. The outside diameter of the ring has a crush lip providing extra interference in the groove. A bead on the shoulder stops contaminates from entering through the groove. The inside diameter is ribbed to prevent pressure traps between the wiper and rod seal.

94A Durometer | Urethane Material | 1/2 in Nominal Inner Diameter

Features

  • Crush lip to provide extra interference
  • Bead on the shoulder to keep contaminants out
  • Ribbed ID to prevent pressure traps

T-Seals combine a resilient sealing ring with a hard, split back-up ring on each side of the sealing element. The assembly installs in a standard o-ring groove. T-Seals are non-spiraling and extrusion resistant to 5,000 psi with improved tolerances. Intermediate and Wide Base T-Seals are designed to fit MIL-5514F o-ring glands only and interchange with 1 o-ring / 1 back-up ring and 1 o-ring / 2 back-up ring grooves, respectively.

DUCT-5000 has a diameter of 5 in. The material is 65-45-12 Ductile Iron.

65-45-12 Ductile Iron is used to machine pistons, glands, caps, manifolds, rams, and valve bodies.

Ductile has higher machining speeds than steel and there is usually no need for deburring machined parts. The graphite flakes in the material act as a self-lubricant. Ductile can be flame or induction hardened as well as deep hardened.

Ductile bars are produced with sufficient stock on the outside diameter to ensure clean-up at the nominal dimension.

  • Excellent machinability
  • Optimal impact strengths
  • Optimal fatigue properties
  • Optimal electrical conductivity
  • High magnetic permeability

Full mill lengths will be cut to lengths between 12 ft and 19 ft long. Packages longer than 44 inches may have additional freight charges.
