The PS1400 seals offer low friction and high strength in a compact double-acting piston seal design. The PTFE seal ring, combined with a rubber energizer, assures positive contact with the dynamic surface. The PS1400 is designed to fit ANSI/B93.32-1973 groove standards. Manufactured from 55 Shore D polyester reinforced with <5% glass fiber, style PS1708 offers compact, low friction sealing for light to medium duty hydraulic cylinders. Style PS1708 is easily stretched over the piston without needing to be resized as in the PS1800 seals. Directly interchangeable with style PS1800 and PS1850 piston seals. This two piece piston seal design comes made with a heat-stabilized, thermoplastic step-cut ring along with a profiled NBR energizer. This product offers extreme strength and resistance to extrusion, a very high resistance to abrasion, and ease of installation thanks to the step cut design and chamfered edges. The design also allows the seal to pass over ports without damage and offers greater resistance to surface roughness in comparison to any elastomer seals. The profiled energizer offers improved dynamic sealing ability, responding quickly to pressure changes and providing excellent sealing characteristics under a wide range of pressure conditions.

Molded from 93 Shore A polyurethane with a 70 Shore A energizer, this seal utilizes the same groove dimensions as a standard o-ring or T-seal. One or two Style 575 back-up rings may be used for wider grooves. Extrusion resistant by design, this seal is also resistant to rolling and twisting. Installation is an easy two step snap-in procedure with no need to re-size before insertion into the bore. Piston diameter “I” dimensions are given for pistons without wear rings.

This style of seal provides effective static and dynamic sealing while the groove on the sealing surface acts as a lubrication reservoir to reduce friction. Grooves on both sides prevent blow by during sudden pressure changes and a premium NBR square energizer prevents twisting. This product is molded from premium urethane which provides excellent extrusion and wear resistance.
