Single-lipped, snap-in rod wiper is designed to fit D-style housings.
The ST-XLF wipers are designed to fit the standard ST wiper groove. These wipers include a dust lip to prevent contaminates from entering through the groove. They also have a ribbed inside diameter for low friction operation and to prevent pressure traps between the wiper and rod seal. Developed specifically for use in harsher environments with heavy contamination, such as in agriculture, off-highway, and forestry equipment.
Urethane Material | 5 in Nominal Inner Diameter
Features
- Precision trimmed wiping lip
- Retrofits most ‘D’ wiper housings
- Especially effective in vertically mounted cylinders
- Designed to follow the rod deflection caused by side loads
- Interchangeable with Hallite 520 wiper
- Sharp wiping lip scrapes heavy contamination from rod protecting sealing system
- Umbrella Wiper Technology™ protects housing from contamination and reduces moisture ingress
The RBS style rod buffer seals are a rectangular urethane buffer ring designed to absorb pressure fluctuations to protect the primary rod seal. Some sizes include a radial and axial slot, which faces the pressure, to relieve back pressure between the primary and buffer seal. This simple design is commonly found on older construction equipment.

Style ST-XL wipers are molded from premium urethane and are direct replacements for Style “ST” or “D” wipers. The outside diameter of the ring has a crush lip providing extra interference in the groove. A bead on the shoulder stops contaminates from entering through the groove. The inside diameter is ribbed to prevent pressure traps between the wiper and rod seal.

Features
- Crush lip to provide extra interference
- Bead on the shoulder to keep contaminants out
- Ribbed ID to prevent pressure traps
The Z-Seal™ is a squeeze type seal, combining the excellent sealability and low compression set of a resilient rubber lip with the greater anti-extrusion characteristics of a hard thermoplastic base. Under low pressure conditions, the sealing lip provides its own compressive seal force. As pressure increases, hydrostatic pressure is mechanically transmitted through the elastomeric seal element into the anti-extrusion base. The applied force then deflects radially in a controlled manner, closing the extrusion gap behind the sealing lip. Under this condition, maximum sealing effectiveness is achieved.

T-Seals combine a resilient sealing ring with a hard, split back-up ring on each side of the sealing element. The assembly installs in a standard o-ring groove. T-Seals are non-spiraling and extrusion resistant to 5,000 psi with improved tolerances. Intermediate and Wide Base T-Seals are designed to fit MIL-5514F o-ring glands only and interchange with 1 o-ring / 1 back-up ring and 1 o-ring / 2 back-up ring grooves, respectively.
